An autopsy is to be conducted today on a 50-year-old Memramcook East man found dead in an open field Thursday (21 mars) afternoon. Sackville RCMP said Alcide Landry was apparently on his way home from a woods camp nearby when he collapsed. The autopsy was called to confirm cause of death. Landry was discovered after the family sent someone to look for him when he didn't return by mid-afternoon.

Born in Memramcook East, he was a son of Anna (LeBlanc) and the late Emile Landry, and was a heavy equipment operator. He attended Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Memramcook East.

Besides his mother, he is survived by seven sisters, Mrs. Norman Melanson (Carmelle), Mrs. Alex LeBlanc (Antoinette), Mrs. Hector LeBlanc (Linda), Hélène Landry, Mrs. Ginette Sears and Mrs. David Sears (Yolande), all of Memramcook East, and Mrs Rhéal Dupuis (Majella) of La Montagne; a brother, Paul of Memramcook East; and several nieces and nephews.

The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will he celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the spring.
